ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK

Tour is led by Dereck Hindry, with all ground services in Namibia  provided by CNP Safaris (Pty) Ltd — Reg. 2015/138225/07.

Where wildlife, wilderness and photography come together.
Etosha National Park is one of Africa’s great wildlife destinations and offers photographers an experience quite different from the more densely vegetated reserves of Southern Africa.
At the heart of the park lies the immense Etosha Pan, a vast salt pan surrounded by seemingly endless open plains, woodland and savannah. The landscape’s simplicity is part of what makes Etosha so special photographically — wildlife can often be photographed against beautifully clean, uncluttered backgrounds.

During the drier months, Etosha’s waterholes become natural gathering places for wildlife. Instead of constantly searching for animals, photographers can spend time positioned around these water sources, waiting for the action to unfold.
Elephants emerge from the dusty plains, herds of zebra and springbok gather to drink, giraffes approach cautiously, while predators such as lion and leopard are never far away. Etosha is also particularly renowned for its rhino population, providing opportunities to photograph both black and white rhino.

The park supports an extraordinary diversity of wildlife, including 114 mammal species and more than 340 recorded bird species, with elephant, lion, leopard, rhino, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, springbok, gemsbok and the distinctive black-faced impala among its inhabitants.

Using CNP’s custom-built photographic safari vehicle (3 Photographers and 1 Non Photographer) we can concentrate on positioning, light, backgrounds and giving photographers the time they need to capture the image rather than simply moving from one sighting to the next.

Etosha is not just a destination to visit. It is a destination to photograph.

This is a small group safari designed for photographers, using a CNP Safaris custom-built photographic vehicle with just three dedicated photography seats.
